Not Just Lab Coats

Not Just Lab Coats is a careers and recruitment platform helping people explore opportunities across the science industries. Its goal is to bring career information, practical guidance and real-world insights together in one place, showing that science-sector work extends well beyond laboratory roles. Visitors can learn about careers ranging from Laboratory Scientist and Chemical Engineer to administrative and marketing positions, and use the Careers Hub, job profiles and careers quiz to discover possible pathways.

The platform covers a broad range of sectors, including chemicals, coatings, life sciences, medicines, nuclear, hydrogen, carbon capture and paper. Its resources include career advice, guidance articles, case studies and stories from people working in the field, as well as information about apprenticeships and other routes into employment. Not Just Lab Coats also features current vacancies across roles, employers and locations, and invites organisations to list vacancies or become sponsors. By connecting career exploration with recruitment opportunities, it aims to help jobseekers understand the variety of work available and take their next step in science, manufacturing and technology.
