Nottingham Scuba Divers

Nottingham Scuba Divers is a volunteer-run BSAC branch and welcoming club for people interested in scuba diving, whether they are new to the sport or already qualified with another organisation. Based in Nottingham, the club offers training for medically fit learners aged 14 and over; members under 18 need parental approval. Beginners can book a try-dive in a swimming pool, where they can experience breathing underwater under close supervision in a safe, controlled setting.

The club provides a progression of BSAC courses, from Ocean Diver and Advanced Ocean Diver through Sports Diver, Dive Leader and Advanced Diver to First Class Diver. Training develops practical diving ability, safety and rescue skills, dive leadership, planning and navigation. Cross-over options are available for divers with PADI or similar qualifications who wish to gain a BSAC equivalent. Pool sessions take place at Harvey Hadden Sports Village, and members can use the club’s 5.5-metre RIB, paying for fuel. The club also arranges UK and overseas diving trips, including visits to the Farne Islands, St.
