About OsloMet
The Norwegian Social Research Institute NOVA is a social science research institute at OsloMet, the Oslo Metropolitan University. Its work focuses on childhood and youth, quality of life, welfare services and policy, ageing, and life-course studies. Through research, publications and collaboration, NOVA contributes knowledge about social conditions and the challenges facing individuals, families and communities.
The institute’s research sections cover childhood, family and child welfare; health and welfare; youth; and ageing and housing. Its projects and major research resources include the Norwegian study of Life Course, Ageing and Generation (NorLAG), the Ungdata youth surveys, research on domestic violence, and studies of housing and welfare. NOVA also supports research networks addressing topics such as youth crime, disability, family, ageing, migration, social class and inequality.
Alongside its research, NOVA shares findings through news, reports and other publications, and takes part in conferences, seminars and public events. It also offers a newsletter with updates on research, projects, publications and job opportunities.
