NOVAC

The Northern Virginia Astronomy Club (NOVAC), founded in 1980 and incorporated in 1991, is one of the largest amateur astronomy clubs in the United States, boasting over 1,100 members. Situated in Virginia, near Washington D.C., our mission is to provide enjoyment and education through astronomy for both our members and the public. NOVAC is dedicated to fostering a friendly environment where enthusiasts, from beginners to seasoned astronomers, can exchange ideas and engage in celestial observations.

We organize numerous public outreach events, such as public viewing nights and special astronomical programs, allowing attendees to explore the wonders of the universe through telescopes provided by our volunteers. NOVAC also hosts educational initiatives, including mentorship programs, general meetings, and themed events, such as Astronomy Day. As a recognized non-profit organization, we offer memberships that not only grant access to our resources but also contribute to educational outreach efforts, making each experience tax-deductible for supporters. Join us in our quest to observe the cosmos and inspire others to do the same!
