About NOVACT
NOVACT - The International Institute for Nonviolent Action promotes international actions for peacebuilding in conflict situations. The Institute has emerged from the efforts of civil society to contribute to a peaceful, just, dignified, and equitable world. With a network of experts and activists in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia, NOVACT supports nonviolent movements working for social transformation and develops mechanisms of peaceful civil intervention to protect vulnerable populations in situations of violence.
As a committed and politically independent actor, the Institute advocates for innovative ideas, research, and training to influence defense, security, and foreign policy in Europe and other international spheres. Headquartered in the Mediterranean city of Barcelona, NOVACT is a project of Nova-Innovació Social, an NGO qualified by the United Nations. It is funded by dedicated citizens and public institutions that enable its independence.
