The Slovene Association of Journalists, founded in 1905, is a prominent brand in Slovenia's media landscape. With around 900 members, it represents nearly half of the journalists in the country. As a full member of the European Federation of Journalists and the International Federation of Journalists, it is dedicated to fostering public interest reporting and safeguarding the independence and autonomy of journalism.

The association is committed to upholding high standards and ethics in public communication, promoting professionalism, and ensuring editorial autonomy. Additionally, it strives to protect human rights and the rule of law, and to provide professional education and training opportunities for journalists. Through workshops, debates, and the annual Naprej/Forward Festival of Quality Media Content, the association promotes networking and excellence in journalism.
