National Pygmy Goat Association

The National Pygmy Goat Association (NPGA) is a renowned brand dedicated to supporting and promoting the Pygmy Goat breed in the United States. Established in 1976, NPGA is divided into eight regions, with each region electing two members to the board of directors. These directors actively carry out the Association's business and address matters brought forth by the membership.

Additionally, NPGA appoints four officers, including the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, each January. NPGA plays a vital role in facilitating communication and cooperation among breeders and researchers, encouraging breeding and registration of characteristic Pygmy Goats, and establishing regional affiliate clubs. Through these efforts, they gather and disseminate practical and theoretical knowledge, promote the breed through exposure and publications, and facilitate the registration of certified seed stock and their offspring.

To maintain the breed's integrity, NPGA ensures that all its licensed judges undergo rigorous training and testing in breed standards, ring procedures, and oral presentation skills. The Association also has numerous Affiliated Clubs across the United States, Australia, and Europe, promoting pygmy goats through workshops, clinics, exhibits, and sanctioned shows.
