About NPKUA
The National PKU Alliance (NPKUA) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with Phenylketonuria (PKU) through support, education, and research initiatives. Founded in 2008 by a group of passionate families, NPKUA aims to serve as the primary resource for PKU needs at all life stages. Their mission encompasses providing advocacy, community support, and innovative solutions to improve health outcomes for PKU patients. Among their notable offerings are access to genetic testing, a Patient Registry to facilitate research, and various resources for managing PKU, including cooking guides and information on insurance coverage.
NPKUA actively funds research through initiatives like the "Lifting the Limits" fundraising campaign, which has raised over $4.4 million to support significant scientific advancements in PKU treatment. With a dedicated Board of Directors and staff comprising experts in various fields, NPKUA continues to lead efforts for a cure and enhance the overall well-being of individuals and families affected by PKU.
