About Northern Plains EC
Northern Plains Electric Cooperative is one of the largest distribution electric cooperatives in North Dakota. With 42 dedicated employees and headquarters in Carrington and Cando, they serve over 8,000 members and provide electricity to more than 11,000 meters. Covering a vast area of 50 to 70 miles, Northern Plains serves counties including Benson, Foster, Stutsman, and Towner, among others.
Their mission is to improve the quality of rural life by delivering reliable and affordable electricity to their members. As a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, Northern Plains is committed to excellence and community. They undergo a compliance process every other year to ensure they meet the highest standards of service.

Northern Plains sources its electricity from Basin Electric Power Cooperative and Western Area Power Administration. They are governed by a 9-member board of directors elected by their members.
