The Mizube Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1995, dedicated to enhancing and preserving Japan's waterfront environments. With roots in community-led clean-up initiatives around Lake Kasumigaura, the foundation actively engages fishermen and community members nationwide in various environmental conservation activities. Their commitment includes the organized removal of litter from water bodies, ensuring that these landscapes remain healthy and vibrant for future generations.

In addition to clean-up operations, the Mizube Foundation offers educational programs, such as fishing classes for children, to foster a sense of responsibility and appreciation for aquatic ecosystems. They also promote the growth of aquatic plants, recognizing their vital role in maintaining ecological balance. Through these initiatives, the Mizube Foundation not only protects Japan’s waterways but also raises awareness about environmental stewardship. Their motto encourages reflection on the significance of healthy water environments, making them a pivotal force in maintaining the integrity of Japan’s natural resources.
