About Acelity
V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy is a wound-care treatment developed by Acelity that combines negative pressure wound therapy with controlled instillation and dwell time. The system delivers topical solutions or suspensions to the wound bed alongside negative pressure, supporting wound cleansing by loosening and removing soluble contaminants between dressing changes. The therapy is also described as helping reduce oedema and promote perfusion and granulation tissue formation. Its stated applications include chronic, acute, traumatic, subacute and dehisced wounds; partial-thickness burns; diabetic, pressure and venous insufficiency ulcers; and flaps and grafts.
Wounds International and KCI present the therapy through an educational case-study competition for healthcare professionals who use it in routine practice. The initiative invites reports documenting clinical results and encourages research, knowledge sharing and cross-disciplinary awareness. Entries are made available for open-access peer review and assessed by an independent expert panel. The competition has offered educational grants to winning healthcare organisations, with awards for the top three submissions.
