The National Quantum Office (NQO) is Singapore’s national platform for advancing the development and implementation of the country’s National Quantum Strategy. Established in April 2022 with support from the National Research Foundation and hosted by A*STAR, the office oversees strategic programmes supporting both fundamental and translational quantum research. It works with public- and private-sector partners to build a vibrant research, innovation and enterprise ecosystem and strengthen Singapore’s role in quantum technology development and deployment.
NQO’s programmes span quantum engineering, computing, sensing, processors, fabrication and quantum-safe networks. Its portfolio includes the Quantum Engineering Programme, Centre for Quantum Technologies, National Quantum Computing Hub, National Quantum Federated Foundry, National Quantum Processor Initiative, National Quantum Sensor Programme and National Quantum-Safe Network. Through its Innovation and Enterprise work, the office fosters industry engagement and public-private partnerships to support the translation and implementation of quantum technologies. NQO also promotes talent development through career resources, scholarships and opportunities, including programmes such as Quantum Bootcamp, CQT QCamp and QuTalent.
