The New River Valley Sheep & Goat Club, established in 2014, is a vibrant community dedicated to promoting sheep and goat farming in Southwest Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. With over 250 member farms and nearly 600 individual members, the club serves as a vital network for producers of diverse sheep and goat breeds, including those raised for meat, milk, and fiber.

Members benefit from various resources, including a member directory, classifieds for buying and selling livestock, and exclusive access to educational events. Notably, the club organizes the annual G.O.A.T. Sheep & Goat Festival, along with workshops and classes focused on wool-working and fiber arts, showcasing the creative talents of its artisan members. These artisans craft unique products such as handspun yarns, felted items, and handcrafted soaps.
