The NS Documentation Center Munich is a cultural and educational institution of the City of Munich dedicated to examining the history of National Socialism and its relevance to the present and future. Located at the former site of the “Brown House,” the Nazi Party’s headquarters, it explores Munich’s close connection to the rise of the Nazi movement through exhibitions, events, projects and educational programs. Its work places historical experiences of dictatorship in contemporary and global contexts.
The center offers historical exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, seminars and programs for school groups, alongside a free mediaguide available on visitors’ smartphones. Its research resources include a library, publications and an online encyclopedia with more than 900 articles on people, places, events and organizations linked to Munich’s Nazi-era history. Digital offerings include multimedia stories, a web app featuring tours and information on 118 relevant locations, a podcast, an online magazine and an educational mobile game about forced labor.
