Grupa građana “Novosadska biciklistička inicijativa” je nastala posle protesta 2010. godine održanog usled akcije novosadske saobraćajne policije. Tom prilikom je kažnjeno više stotina biciklista zbog vožnje u pešačkoj zoni. Protest je okupio pojedince koji su na različite načine uključeni u svom profesionalnom radu u “biciklističke teme”. Među tim pojedincima su saobraćajni inženjeri, arhitekte, inženjeri zaštite životne sredine, kao i sportski radnici.

Novosadska Biciklistička Inicijativa is a community group that emerged after a 2010 protest against the penalization of hundreds of cyclists riding in pedestrian zones by the traffic police in Novi Sad. Comprising individuals involved professionally in cycling-related topics such as traffic engineers, architects, environmental engineers, and sports workers, the group is dedicated to promoting cycling culture and safety. Their activities include advocating for infrastructure improvements like the newly constructed cycling path from Novi Sad to Rumenka, organizing events like the cycling rally "Kritična masa," and addressing issues like the safety of the EuroVelo 6 route through Novi Sad.
