The National Supercomputing Center (NSCC) is dedicated to advancing high-performance computing (HPC) activities in Slovakia since its inception in 2020. The NSCC focuses on developing HPC infrastructure, fostering projects, and enhancing competencies within this critical field. Their mission includes collaboration with Slovak universities, the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and other organizations involved in HPC and related domains.

NSCC's flagship initiatives involve the development and construction of the PERUN supercomputer, aimed at bolstering the national HPC capabilities. They strive to improve access to HPC infrastructure and services, ensuring fair opportunities for user projects through well-coordinated activities and transparent service delivery.

In addition to infrastructure and services, NSCC is committed to raising awareness about HPC's potential beyond academia, helping small and medium enterprises tap into its benefits. They offer free educational courses, organize lectures, and run the "HPC Fellowship" program for university students. By engaging various stakeholders, NSCC aims to enhance collaboration and support the ongoing digitalization and innovation within society.
