NSCD

Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) is a specialist dance conservatoire in Leeds and one of the UK’s leading schools for contemporary dance. It is the only conservatoire for dance in England outside London, offering education and opportunities for aspiring performers, choreographers, teachers and dance professionals.

Its higher education programmes include a Certificate of Higher Education in Dance, undergraduate degrees in contemporary dance performance and in choreography, producing and teaching, and postgraduate courses in performance, creative enterprise, dance pedagogy, professional placement, and teaching and facilitating creative subjects. Students can access application support, student services, injury support, accommodation, library facilities and international exchanges.

NSCD also welcomes wider communities through classes and intensives for children, young people and adults, school and group activities, workshops, and its Centre for Advanced Training. Additional programmes include summer and Easter intensives, Arts Award opportunities and community dance projects. The school presents performances and events at Riley Theatre, supports graduates as they enter the dance sector, and shares news, opportunities and information through its website and mailing list.
