About NSCDA
The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America (NSCDA) is an unincorporated association of 44 Corporate Societies with over 15,000 members. With a strong focus on historic preservation, restoration, and the interpretation of historic sites, the NSCDA promotes appreciation for the people, places, and events that shaped and developed our country. Since its establishment in 1897, the NSCDA has been a leader in the field, starting with the preservation of the Van Cortlandt House by its New York Society.
Headquartered at Dumbarton House, a Federal period house museum in Washington, D. C., the NSCDA continuously strives to protect and celebrate the rich history of the United States. Their dedication to historic preservation has been recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, who awarded them the Trustee Emeritus Award for Excellence in the Stewardship of Historic Sites.
