NATO STABILITY POLICING CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

The NATO Stability Policing Centre of Excellence (NATO SP COE) is a multinational military body based in Vicenza, Italy. Italy serves as its Framework Nation, alongside sponsoring nations Czech Republic, France, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain and Türkiye. The Centre focuses on Stability Policing: police-related activities that reinforce or temporarily replace local police to help restore or maintain public order and security, the rule of law, and the protection of human rights.

The NATO SP COE supports NATO and its member countries through work in doctrine and standardization, education and training, exercises, lessons learned, and innovation. It develops and contributes to doctrine, publications, standards and procedures; delivers Stability Policing education and training aligned with NATO standards; and gathers and shares lessons and best practices. It also coordinates research and concept development in the field. The Centre offers residential and e-learning courses, hosts events, and makes publications, research papers, reports, books and other resources available through its library.
