Národní sdružení PKU a jiných DMP

The National Association of PKU and Other Metabolic Disorders (NSPKU) is a Czech nonprofit organization representing people with phenylketonuria (PKU) and other metabolic disorders, together with their families. It supports patients in pursuing the best possible quality of life and advocates for their interests. The association connects the community through events, meetings, peer support, and opportunities to share experiences, while working with specialists in the Czech Republic and abroad.

NSPKU provides information and practical resources on metabolic disorders, treatment principles, low-protein diets, and conditions including PKU, homocystinuria, tyrosinemia, and organic acidurias. Its activities include educational events, cooking courses, publications, patient stories, and guidance for families. The association also shares updates on treatment, research, and legislation, and promotes awareness of the challenges faced by patients. Current initiatives include efforts to improve access to low-protein meals in Czech hospitals and to coordinate community events. Patients, families, supporters, and partners can get involved through membership, collaboration, awareness activities, and donations.
