NSRV Obelix is a student rugby association in Nijmegen, founded in 1970 and known for its green and yellow colours. The club welcomes students of all backgrounds and experience levels, offering a friendly setting to learn rugby, compete and build lasting connections. In the 2025/2026 season, Obelix fields a men’s team in the third division and a women’s team in the second division, which plays in a regional cluster with other women’s teams. Both teams train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and play matches on Sundays.
New players can join the Young Dogs beginners course, held twice a year. This seven-week programme introduces participants to rugby fundamentals and the club’s culture. Interested players are also invited to attend regular training. Obelix provides rugby clinics for a wide range of groups, promoting the sport and its values of cooperation and respect. Beyond the field, members take part in committees, monthly social gatherings, an annual trip abroad, tournaments and other activities.
