NSSCA

The Nova Scotia Scholastic Chess Association (NSSCA) is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization founded in 1998 to promote youth chess across Nova Scotia. Incorporated under the Provincial Registry of Joint Stocks, the NSSCA aims to foster chess education and competitive play among school-aged children. Key initiatives include organizing regular tournaments such as the Provincial Chess Challenge, School Team Provincials, and preparing teams for the Canadian Chess Challenge. The association also hosts an annual chess festival in Halifax to further engage the community.

Partnering with local schools, libraries, and recreation centers, the NSSCA enhances its outreach and effectiveness in promoting chess.
