Nezavisni sindikat znanosti i visokog obrazovanja (Independent Union of Research and Higher Education Employees) is the largest higher education union in Croatia, consisting of 131 subsidiaries. Established in 1990 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zagreb, the union represents the interests of research and higher education employees. Led by Union President Dr. sc. Tvrtko Smital, the union's goal is to protect and advocate for the rights and welfare of its members.
