Netzwerk Terrorismusforschung

Netzwerk Terrorismusforschung e. V. (NTF) is an independent German association and platform for interdisciplinary exchange on terrorism, extremism, political violence, radicalisation and prevention. It connects researchers with people working in the media, public authorities and politics, supporting discussion of current issues across research and practice. Its central activity is hosting workshops twice a year, where specialists and researchers share work on relevant topics. Doctoral researchers and master’s students are also invited to present their projects, studies and ideas.

NTF shares research and perspectives through events, podcasts and publications. Topics featured include left-wing extremism, the history and ideology of the Red Army Faction, literature of the New Right, women in extremism, and new forms of political violence. The association also promotes emerging researchers through calls for papers and a dedicated early-career panel. Its services include connecting users with experts for policy, media and research enquiries, providing reviews for security-studies theses, and offering internships to support young researchers. Through these activities, NTF fosters collaboration and informed discussion across disciplines and professional communities.
