About NTFP-EP Asia
NTFP-EP is a brand dedicated to the sustainable management of natural resources in various countries across Asia, including Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. As a regional network, they work alongside forest-dependent communities, empowering them to become resilient Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) who are respected stewards of healthy forests. Recognizing the importance of non-timber forest products (NTFPs), which are essential for the livelihoods of millions of people, NTFP-EP aims to bridge the gap between forest communities and viable enterprises.
By providing strategic information, practical technology, and financial support, they enable forest-based communities to access markets and develop sustainable businesses. NTFP-EP also operates as a platform for knowledge exchange, offering a comprehensive database, publications, and videos through their Knowledge Center, called HIVE. Through their projects, such as Rattan and Sustainability, they actively promote community-based conservation, climate adaptation, indigenous food and health, tenure rights, and governance.
Supported by partner funding organizations and a dedicated team, NTFP-EP is committed to preserving forest resources while enhancing the socio-economic well-being of forest-dependent communities
