About Northern Territory PHN
The Northern Territory Primary Health Network (NT PHN) works to improve access to primary health care for people across the Territory. As the NT’s only Primary Health Network, it identifies gaps in the health system and commissions local providers to deliver services that address community needs and priorities. Its programs span Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, alcohol and other drugs, digital health, healthy ageing, mental health, outreach, population health, social and emotional wellbeing, and suicide prevention.
NT PHN also operates a Rural Workforce Agency, which attracts, recruits and supports health professionals serving regional and remote communities. Support includes orientation for new recruits, professional development, GP locum relief, grants and scholarships, workforce planning and advice, and practice management assistance. The organisation provides career resources for doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and Aboriginal health workers, alongside information for students and people considering a move to the NT. It also supports health professionals through practice resources, professional development, HealthPathways and sector events.
