About North Texas Philosophical Association
The North Texas Philosophical Association (NTPA) is an organization dedicated to philosophical scholarship, education, and community. Its activities center on an annual conference that brings together scholars and others interested in philosophy, with programming that includes keynote addresses and opportunities to share research. Past keynote speakers include Simon Critchley, John Caputo, Sandra Harding, Linda Martin Alcoff, Alfonso Lingis, Babette Babich, and John Sallis.
The NTPA welcomes conference paper submissions from a wide range of philosophical traditions and approaches. Topics include the history of philosophy, phenomenology, philosophical hermeneutics, environmental philosophy, aesthetics, philosophy of religion, critical race theory, feminist philosophy, post-colonialism, and post-structuralism. The association particularly encourages work from historically overlooked or marginalized perspectives. It issues an open call for papers each fall and provides information about conference programs, registration, hotels, and travel. Visitors can also explore recorded lectures, photographs, and program archives. The NTPA shares updates through its newsletter and social media channels, and accepts donations to support its work.
