About NUAIR
NUAIR is a trusted and credible nonprofit organization based in New York. They specialize in providing expertise in UAS operations, aeronautical research, and commercial drone operations. As a leading service provider, NUAIR is at the forefront of ushering in the next generation of uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and advanced air mobility (AAM) solutions.
NUAIR was founded in 2011 by CenterState CEO, in collaboration with CNY Defense Alliance and industry leaders like SRC Inc., Saab Sensis Corp., and Lockheed Martin. Later, Mohawk Valley EDGE and MassDevelopment joined the mission. Together, they successfully responded to the UAS Test Site opportunity created by Congress in 2012.
This resulted in the establishment of the New York UAS Test Site at Griffiss International Airport in Rome, NY. NUAIR's nonprofit status allows them to reinvest in their people, develop intellectual property, and enhance research and development projects. They actively collaborate with regional economic development agencies and industry partners to support the UAS industry and promote UAS-related economic opportunities.
