NUCAFE, which stands for National Union of Coffee Agribusinesses and Farm Enterprises, is a farmer-owned social enterprise founded in 2003. It operates under the business entity NUCAFE Grading Limited and is dedicated to empowering coffee farmers in Uganda. With a vision of Coffee Farmers profitably own their coffee along the coffee value chain for sustainable livelihoods, consumer satisfaction, and societal transformation, NUCAFE runs both a business entity and impact-oriented programs.

NUCAFE has made significant strides in organizing and empowering smallholder farmers, with over 1. 5 million farmers organized in 200 associations and cooperatives across the country. Through their Farmer Ownership Model, these farmers assume various roles and functions within the coffee value chain, leading to sustainable livelihoods and increased household incomes.

NUCAFE also ensures the production of high-quality coffee that is responsibly grown, ethically processed, and traded. Their coffees, which include both green and roasted varieties, are sought after by high-end market off-takers.
