The Numismatischer Verein zu Dresden is a long-established association for people interested in coins, medals, paper money and monetary history. Founded more than 150 years ago, it is a supporter of the Münzkabinett of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden and contributes to the preservation and study of Saxon cultural and monetary history. The association welcomes both newcomers and experienced collectors, with an emphasis on shared research, collecting and personal exchange.

Its activities include regular numismatic gatherings, lectures, excursions and collector meetings, as well as special events and auctions. Guests are welcome at public lectures and regular gatherings. The association also produces its own publications and medal editions, sharing knowledge and supporting interest in numismatics. Its projects include a database to help create a catalogue of works by the Dresden-based firm Glaser & Sohn. Through its historical resources, events and collaborative initiatives, the association offers members and visitors opportunities to explore the stories behind coins and related objects and to connect with a knowledgeable community in Dresden.
