Nunee

Nunee Health Board Society supports the health and well-being of people and families in Fort Chipewyan. Its approach considers the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—and aims to build a healthier, more connected future for the community. The Society provides a range of programs and services shaped around local needs, including home care, treatment services, public health care, healthy child development, healthy living, wellness, and medical transportation. Its work also encompasses primary and essential medical care, mental wellness and counseling supports, family health programs, and community health initiatives.

Beyond direct services, Nunee works to strengthen community well-being through culturally respectful healthcare, regional collaboration, policy engagement, and public awareness. It builds connections among First Nations communities, governments, healthcare systems, and the public, with the goal of keeping community voices and needs central to health planning. Nunee also shares local health news and event information, including wellness workshops and community gatherings, and offers career opportunities for people interested in delivering compassionate, culturally grounded care in Fort Chipewyan.
