About NUPRC
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) is Nigeria’s regulatory agency for the upstream oil and gas sector. Its mission is to promote sustainable value creation from the country’s petroleum resources for shared prosperity, and its vision is to become Africa’s leading regulator. The Commission’s responsibilities span exploration and acreage management, development and production, economic regulation and strategic planning, and health, safety, environmental and community guidelines.
NUPRC provides information, regulatory resources and digital services for industry participants and the public. Its website offers publications, gazetted acts and regulations, policy releases, production and reserves reports, and updates on licences, contracts and concessions. Online services include the Oil & Gas Industry Service Permit application, Offshore Safety Permit portal, National Production Monitoring System, TSA payment portal and Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialisation Programme website. The Commission also supports host community development compliance reporting and shares industry news, data and guidance through its media resources, service charter and frequently asked questions.
