Nurmijärven suojeluyhdistys ry is a Finnish lake conservation association established in 2017 to promote the protection of Nurmijärvi, a lake in the municipality of Rautjärvi, South Karelia. Its work focuses on preventing the lake’s water from becoming darker and more nutrient-rich, while preserving its good condition, recreational value and distinctive cultural landscape. The association shares information about the lake’s condition, including water clarity, water levels, nutrient loading, the catchment area and fishing.
Its website also provides conservation guidance, maps, historical materials and updates on local environmental issues, such as humus filtration, peatland restoration and logging impacts. The association invites people to take part in lake protection by becoming members. Membership options include property membership, supporting membership and association membership, each with a stated annual fee.
Nurmijärven suojeluyhdistys brings together local residents and other supporters who want to help safeguard the lake and its surroundings for continued enjoyment and conservation
