Ocean State Shaolin is a Rhode Island martial arts and wellness school offering classes in Shaolin Kungfu, Qigong, kickboxing, and meditation. Its programs welcome children, teens, adults, and seniors, with instruction for beginners and advanced students in a friendly, supportive environment. Shaolin Kungfu is presented as a Chinese martial art with a history of more than 2,000 years, while Qigong is taught as an ancient health practice with movements and concepts similar to Taichi.

Students can choose Qigong for a light to moderate workout or Kungfu for a more challenging fitness experience. Classes incorporate cross-crawl exercises and routines designed to support coordination, balance, mental agility, memory, stamina, flexibility, strength, power, and circulation. The school also describes potential benefits for emotional balance, anxiety reduction, self-control, patience, discipline, and perseverance.

Meditation is available online each morning from 7 to 8 a. m. Eastern with Shifu Guolin, a former Shaolin Temple monk, and incorporates Qigong exercises.
