Nuwelant

Nuwelant is the local heritage group for the parish of Nuland, including Heeseind. It works to preserve and share knowledge of the area’s history, people, and community life. Its website offers access to growing digital collections, including photographs, memorial cards, historical documents, and personal stories. The archive features records such as judicial documents, guardianship accounts, and information on births, marriages, and deaths, supporting both local residents and researchers interested in Nuland’s past.

Nuwelant also publishes books and Spoorzoeker, its periodical featuring articles on local families, organizations, events, and notable people. Recent projects include a book about Nuland, Heeseind, Vinkel, and Kruisstraat between 1794 and 1911. The group organizes lectures, presentations, and other heritage activities, and shares local history through stories and podcasts. Visitors can explore the archive and learn about the organization at its heritage room at Prins Bernhardplein 10 in Nuland, open on Tuesday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00. Nuwelant also welcomes people interested in its work and membership.
