Narrenverein Pfiffikus e. V. is a traditional carnival association based in Hilzingen, Germany, dedicated to celebrating and preserving the local Fasnacht, part of the Swabian-Alemannic carnival tradition recognized by UNESCO as national intangible cultural heritage. Founded in 1896, the association marked 130 years of history in 2026. After reorganizing in 2019, it renewed its leadership and membership, helping strengthen the community’s carnival customs for future generations.
The club brings together members of all ages through its traditional figures and groups, including Pfiffikus, the Narrenpolizei, Hansele, Esel and Zwinghofbuure. Children are especially welcome, and the association’s Narresome youth group plays an important role; its Hansele dance group also performs on stage. Each year, the club helps organize Hilzingen’s traditional carnival Sunday parade, attracting participants and visitors to the community. It also offers a children’s booklet about Hilzingen Fasnacht, featuring illustrated coloring pages. Through events, performances and activities for families, Narrenverein Pfiffikus fosters a lively, shared celebration of local heritage.
