About NVN
The National Veterans Network (NVN) is an organization dedicated to educating current and future generations about the legacy of American soldiers of Japanese ancestry who served during World War II. Its work uses their stories and historical experiences to promote equality and justice, while helping audiences understand their military service and its wider significance.
NVN develops educational programs and resources for the public, students, and teachers. Its offerings include the “I Am An American: The Nisei Soldier Experience” traveling exhibit, online exhibitions, historical materials, educator resources, and teacher training. The organization also shares videos, news, and stories about Nisei soldiers and their families, and supports commemorations and public events related to their service.
Its educational content covers the wartime history of the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Military Intelligence Service, and other units, as well as incarceration, military service, the war effort, and soldiers’ return home. Through partnerships, exhibits, and outreach, NVN helps preserve this history and make it accessible to diverse audiences.
