About NVVS Seksuologie
NVVS Seksuologie is the Dutch Scientific Association for Sexology. With a mission to promote the quality of sexology and advocate for the interests of its members, NVVS offers a range of products and services. Currently, NVVS has 630 members working in various disciplines such as psychology, medicine, social work, nursing, and physiotherapy.
The association ensures the quality of training for professionals through accreditation and visitation of education programs. NVVS also maintains quality registers, including the Seksuoloog NVVS, Consulent Seksuele Gezondheid NVVS, and Aantekening Seksuologie NVVS. However, it is important to note that the term seksuoloog is not protected in the Netherlands, and the use of NVVS qualifications is strictly regulated.
NVVS also organizes professional events and conferences, providing a platform for knowledge-sharing and networking in the field of sexology. To address the need for professional sexual health services, NVVS advocates for the reimbursement of its services by healthcare insurers.
