Cymdeithas Deillion Gogledd Cymru

The North Wales Society of the Blind is a charity supporting blind, partially sighted and sight-impaired people throughout North Wales. Working with people of all ages, it provides practical and emotional support to help members build independence, confidence and choice. Its services include help and advice, rehabilitation, support for children and families, assistive technology, clubs and groups, grants, and awareness training and talks.

The Society also offers audio transcription and accessible reading resources, including audio newspapers and books. It has recorded Welsh-language books since 1963 and is now a leading producer of Welsh audio books for adults, children and young people, as well as people who have difficulty reading print. These titles are available through libraries across Wales on CD, MP3 and USB, and via the BorrowBox library download service. The Society also provides opportunities to get involved through volunteering, fundraising and donations. Based in Bangor, it shares news and events and invites people to subscribe to its newsletter for updates on its work and impact.
