Welcome to Sean Casey Animal Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill shelter dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of animals in need. As the largest private rescue in New York, we have been serving the city's homeless animals since 1998, saving over 8,000 lives through partnerships with organizations like Animal Care & Control. Our mission is simple: to provide a higher quality of life for unfortunate animals.

We take in rescued, neglected, injured, and unwanted animals from various sources and care for them until they find loving homes or reintegrated into suitable habitats. At Sean Casey Animal Rescue, we are committed to educating pet owners and animal lovers, offering programs that teach responsible ownership, behavior and training, and animal welfare. Our family-friendly establishment welcomes community involvement, allowing children to volunteer and learn about compassion and proper animal care.

Through our innovative job training and Community Service programs, we empower disadvantaged students while promoting responsible ownership of domesticated animals. In addition to our rescue efforts, we also strive to educate the public on coexisting with New York City's wildlife and participate in wildlife rehabilitation with licensed specialists. When it comes to adoption, we have a wide variety of animals available, including dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, and small mammals.

We even house unique creatures like land tortoises, tarantulas, and pot-bellied pigs. For animals with special medical needs, our Critical Care program provides life-saving medical care to those who have nowhere else to turn. If you're unable to make a lifelong commitment but still want to make a difference, consider fostering an animal in need.

It's a rewarding experience that saves lives. We invite you to come and visit our shelter on Wednesdays and Thursdays for a rescue tour. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our work and get involved.

Meet our dedicated staff, including Founder and Director Sean Casey, who has been licensed as an Assistant Wildlife Rehabilitator, and his team of compassionate individuals who are passionate about animal welfare.
