About Nye Museum
The Nye Museum is a historic house museum and cultural organization in East Sandwich, Massachusetts, operated by the Nye Family Association of America, a registered nonprofit. Located at 85 Old County Road, the homestead has remained in the hands of Benjamin Nye’s descendants and traces its history to 1678. The museum interprets early Cape Cod life, Plymouth Colony settlement, and Nye family history through its historic property and exhibits.
Visitors can tour the museum during its seasonal opening, while guided visits may also be arranged by appointment during the winter and spring. Grounds access is free year-round, and admission discounts or free entry are available to eligible visitors, including children under 12, members, and active-duty military personnel. Beyond tours, the Nye Museum offers educational and preservation programs, genealogy resources, and publishing through its division.
Its calendar includes talks, reading groups, and family events. The organization also hosts weddings and offers Grange Hall rentals. Visitors can support its work through memberships, donations, volunteering, and purchases of books, apparel, and memorabilia
