Nylands Fiskarförbund r.f. is a Swedish-speaking organisation serving fisheries and coastal communities in the Uusimaa region of Finland. For more than a century, it has represented the interests of fishers and promoted sustainable fishing and a vibrant coastal and archipelago environment. The federation provides guidance and information for commercial fishers, water-area owners and recreational anglers, and shares updates about fisheries, meetings and seminars.

Its services and activities include coordinating the supply of fish fry, supporting fisheries areas and offering information on fishing and water ownership. Members receive regular email updates and access to the newsletter Abborrposten, published by the Central Union of Fisheries Organisations. The federation also arranges an annual fishing cruise or dinner in connection with its general meeting, as well as fishing trips and visits to trade fairs based on members’ interests. It welcomes collaboration on projects, including algae cultivation.

Nylands Fiskarförbund also provides information about Finland’s fisheries management fee, fishing permissions and sustainable management of fishing waters and fish stocks.
