About NYSOCC
NYSOCC, or the New York State Old Cemetery Conservancy, is a leading organization dedicated to the preservation and conservation of neglected or abandoned cemeteries, graves, and burial sites throughout the state of New York. With a passionate team of cemetery preservation leaders, NYSOCC spearheads the organized cemetery preservation movement by undertaking restoration and preservation projects. Under the guidance of a volunteer Board of Directors and an Executive Director, NYSOCC has achieved significant milestones in organizational development, including the adoption of bylaws and the launch of a website and social media platforms.
The organization has also obtained 501(c)(3) status. NYSOCC actively promotes education and networking opportunities for cemetery preservation enthusiasts. It recently conducted a presentation in collaboration with the Washington County Historical Society.
