NZV

The Nederlandse Zoötechnische Vereniging (NZV) is a Dutch professional association founded in 1930 for people interested in the relationships between animals, people, and their environment. Its scope extends beyond farm animals to include aquaculture and companion animals. The association provides a platform for discussion and contributes to informed debate on current and future issues in the field. Its more than 500 members include graduates of Wageningen University’s animal sciences programme, veterinary and applied sciences graduates, professionals, and a growing number of students.

NZV supports an informal yet professional network through informative meetings, round-table discussions, excursions, and events organized with the student association De Veetelers. Its programme also includes discussion evenings, seasonal Inspiration Dinners, and an annual members’ day. Past activities have included visits to Alltech Coppens Aqua Center and the Floating Farm, as well as discussions on alternative protein sources in animal feed. Through its events, news, agenda, and member network, NZV connects people and encourages knowledge sharing across animal science and related sectors.
