Oak Mountain MTB

Oak Mountain Mountain Bike Team (Oak Mountain MTB Team) is a volunteer-driven youth cycling organization serving students in grades 6–12 who live in Alabama’s Oak Mountain School District. Students may attend public or private schools or be homeschooled, and riders of varying experience levels are welcome. The team aims to build a lifelong love of mountain biking by developing cycling skills and confidence in a safe, fun, family-centered environment. Its program encourages healthy habits, teamwork, community connection, and a competitive spirit.

As a member of the Alabama Cycling Association, the team takes part in competitive mountain bike racing around the state. Riders predominantly practice at Oak Mountain State Park and also use a local gym for conditioning. Preseason begins in October, with the full season running from January through May. Certified coaches provide guidance, while parents, guardians, community leaders, and donors help sustain the program and create a supportive experience for student-athletes. The organization is led by a board of directors and welcomes community support through donations.
