Oasis Bereavement is a registered not-for-profit organization serving people affected by the death of a loved one, with a focus on helping grieving members of the York Region community find support and useful resources. Recognizing that everyone grieves differently, Oasis aims to help people understand grief as a normal and healthy process and discover ways to live with purpose and meaning after loss.

The organization offers a collection of print and online resources for people who are grieving and those supporting them. Topics include grief among children, anticipatory grief, perinatal and infant loss, the death of a spouse, child, parent or sibling, suicide, pet loss, and grief during the holidays. Oasis also helps people locate personal support available through organizations in the region, including groups, one-on-one support, workshops and seminars.

Oasis shares personal experiences through Journals from the Grief Journey, an anthology of stories about grief and bereavement. Its website also features memorial ornaments, wind phones, support-group information and community resources. Fundraising initiatives and donations help sustain its work.
