The Organization for Seismic Design and Protection (OASP), established in 1983, operates under the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection in Greece. As the country with the highest seismic activity in Europe, OASP plays a crucial role in developing and implementing the national seismic policy. It coordinates efforts between public and private sectors to enhance earthquake preparedness and reduce earthquake risk.

OASP's activities include conducting research on earthquake behavior, developing standards for earthquake-resistant structures, and providing training and resources for emergency response. The organization is managed by a board that proposes seismic protection programs to the government and is supported by several permanent scientific committees composed of recognized experts in seismology and engineering.
