Oberly Outfitting

Oberly Outfitting is a Montana hunting outfitter offering private-land hunts across ranches with more than 40,000 deeded acres in the foothills of the Crazy and Absaroka Mountains. With 20 years of experience, the business arranges hunts for elk, whitetail and mule deer, pronghorn antelope, black bear, and bison. The deer, elk, antelope, and black bear are described as free-ranging, and hunts are conducted on private land using fair-chase practices.

Hunting options include archery and rifle, with spot-and-stalk methods used to adapt to animal movement, terrain, and wind. For elk, guides may adjust locations among different ranches and herds, follow animals near their bedding areas, and use cow calls or bugles when appropriate. The outfitter also sets expectations for mature deer harvests. After a successful hunt, Oberly Outfitting field dresses and capes trophies to the head, then transports them to a processor or taxidermist in Big Timber or Harlowton. Based in Big Timber, Montana, the outfitter can be contacted by phone or email.
