Obrona Zwierząt

Stowarzyszenie Obrona Zwierząt (Animal Defence Association) is a volunteer-run Polish organization dedicated to rescuing animals in need, including animals that are abused, abandoned or homeless. Founded by Agnieszka Lechowicz, the association combines practical support for animals with efforts to improve their protection and public accountability. Its website presents current animals in its care and promotes adoption, including virtual adoption, as well as information about animals that have gone missing or found new homes.

The association also reports on interventions and legal proceedings involving animal mistreatment, and examines the work of shelters, veterinary authorities and local governments responsible for homeless animals. Its advocacy covers topics such as dog castration, ritual slaughter, animal transport and the policies and contracts that shape municipal animal care. The site provides educational resources on animal rights and law, updates on the organization’s activities, and guidance on how supporters can help, including information about donating a portion of their tax. Through rescue, adoption and public-interest advocacy, the association works to reduce animal suffering and encourage responsible care.
