About OCA
The Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) is a non-profit foundation that aims to foster dialogue between art practitioners in Norway and the international arts scene. Established in 2001 by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), OCA supports artists based in Norway in their activities around the world. OCA's programs include discursive, exhibition, publication, residency, and visitor programs that bring a plurality of practices and histories from the forefront of international artistic debates to Norway.
At the same time, OCA actively participates in these debates both nationally and internationally. OCA has been responsible for Norway's contribution to the visual arts section of La Biennale di Venezia since 2001. With core objectives of raising awareness of artistic and cultural practice in Norway, promoting outstanding work by artists and cultural practitioners, and being a conduit of information about contemporary art practices, OCA plays a crucial role in the artistic and academic worlds, acting as a forum for discussion and the production of intellectual discourse on art and culture
